My name is Sharon Audain. I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Dave for 2 years in the Admissions department. My favorite memory of Dave is when he would say "Good morning". He would sing it, as though he were in an opera. I am going to miss him dearly. - Sharon -

My first buddy at NYU, Dave gave me a pen at my first meeting because I forgot one. Since that day, he was my big little work brother. Always ready for fun at work or after work. We had good times, all the time. I was so honored to be part of the happiest day of his life. I will miss him always. My deepest condolences to Rob and the entire family.

I have many fond memories of Dave from high school: Theater, listening to Steve Nicks too loud in his car, talking about life. He made my time in high school enjoyable. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Dave is woven into my high school memories: backstage during a play rehearsal, playing red rover in his yard, listening to him tease my sister and their friends. He was such a big personality, welcoming and dramatic. I can't picture him without a huge smile, an arched eyebrow and a twinkle in his eye. I'm so sorry to hear he has passed. All the best to his family.

My condolences to Dave's family. He was a good man. I got to know him during our admissions travels. We shared a hearty laugh, or two, together while discussing our profession, and life in general. So sorry for your loss.--Collins Byrd, University of Iowa College of Law.

Dave was a very close friend of mine in high school. He was funny, talented, kind. I regret very much that first a geographical divide, and then a religious divide, were such that we did not remain close friends.
His life was a blessing to so many, and to me.
May God, in His great Mercy, grant consolation to Dave's loved ones, and to Dave, peace and perpetual light.
Dave, I pray that I will see you again.

Dave Martinidez was a special guy...a kind and decent man who I absolutely ADORED since I first met him...Columbia and Chapman were always situated closely at the law fairs where schools were organized alphabetically. From the day we first met, he was nice to me and we became fast friends. He made me laugh. He had the most incredible smile. We cheered and advised each other as we climbed our career ladders, worked together on volunteer committees, celebrated personal milestones, and shared advice regarding the challenges we faced. We always greeted each other and departed with hugs and kisses on the cheek. I will miss him, his hugs, and his light.
I picked the purple candle because it reminded me of him...if I close my eyes, I picture him in a purple patterned shirt and a matching tie. He was my New Yorker. For some reason, it's in the parking lot of one of the MAPLA schools...I think Illinois where it all started.
Prayers and hugs to Rob, Dave's mom, his in-laws, and Luckiepants. Please let any of his admissions family know how we can be supportive to you.
