Obituary of Kathryn Lane Van Orden
Kathryn (Katy) VanOrden passed away peacefully on Dec 22, 2020 at home in Randolph.
Born August 26, 1995, she lived in Mendham and Randolph all her life.
Katy attended Matheny from the time she was 7 years old until her graduation in June, 2017. She then attended the Matheny Adult Program in Hillsborough, NJ where she developed strong friendships outside her family and earned her nickname “Queen Kathryn of Sassiness” on her Zoom calls with class.
Katy loved watching movies. Frozen, Moana, Fantasia, Star Wars, and Marvel movies were her favorites. She also loved spending time with her cats who could often be found in her lap or footplate. She enjoyed taking walks around town with her father and going to the boardwalk. She loved singing in church, dance parties with her sisters and friends, and listening to rock and pop music. She looked forward to her visit with Santa with the Millbrook Fire Department.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather Charles VanOrden and maternal grandfather James Dobson.
She is survived by her mother, Cathi (Dobson) Kattermann, husband Rick Kattermann, father Craig VanOrden, two sisters Jennifer (Shevelev) Budd and her husband, Shawn Budd and Samantha VanOrden, her paternal grandmother Muriel (Pfeiffer) Van Orden, her maternal grandmother Patricia (Dietz) Dobson. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles: Cindy (VanOrden) Blood and husband Sam Blood, Scott VanOrden and his wife, Jackie VanOrden, Todd VanOrden, Matthew Dobson and his former wife, Camille Dobson, Jay Dobson and his wife, Gopa Dobson, Annie (Dobson) Mitchell and husband Kirk Mitchell and her Cousins:
Andrew Dobson, Ryan Dobson, Grace Mitchell, James Mitchell, Lydia Mitchell, Devan Dobson, Michael Blood, Brian Blood, Caitlin Blood, Ryer VanOrden, Brezden VanOrden, Drayer VanOrden. In addition she is survived by many extended family and friends who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday Dec 26th from 9-10am at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd, Mendham. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am at St. Joseph Church, Mendham. Interment Hilltop Cemetery, Mendham.
