I have no words................Katie was on the Red Socks team with my son Erik. Her smile as she played her best game lit up the field. My heart and prayers go out to her family. May her smile and spirit light up the heavens as bright as the Christmas Star.

I remember meeting Katy for the first time in Cathi's class when I was in 8th grade, when she came to visit at Montgomery Academy! I am so sorry for the family's loss, especially the Cathi and her husband Rick. The whole family will be in my prayers!

I wanted to offer my deepest condolences to the VanOrden family. I remember Katy when she attended The Regional Day School in Morris County. As the Community Skills teacher there for several years, I took Katy and her class on several field trips. Katy always had a smile on her face, and she was clearly loved by many people. I later taught in Mendham Twp. for 10 years, and I had the opportunity to work with Cathi for one year.
Cathi was a wonderful colleague, and she spoke about Katy with love and pride.
Additionally, my family and I are members of St. Joseph’s Church. Many times my husband and I would see Katy at church with her father, Craig, in the front of the church, not far from the organ. Katy seemed to really love the music, and it warmed my heart to watch this. To all the VanOrdens, we are so sorry for your loss. Thinking of you at this sad time. Nancy Wilson and family

I always loved Kati’s smile whenever I would come over. I loved how much she would laugh when we were joking around! My favorite memory was when Samantha and I sat together to watch Kati at her Christmas concert at Matheny! Heaven has a new angel! God Bless!

My favorite memory of Katy was when she met Camilo. Camilo was fascinated with her and she showed such joy at watching his silly antics. I will always remember her laughing and smiling!

The BEST was any time Katy visited. I’d get to singing (badly, of course), and she would laugh out loud at me, knowing how ridiculous I was. Sharing those moments with her always made my day. So much love to her.
