Obituary of Valerie Ann Wysocki
Valerie Wysocki, 62, passed away at St. Barnabas Medical Center on Sunday, December 13, 2020.
She was born in Mendham, NJ to Marie and Roy Hopkins on March 20, 1958. Valerie graduated from Madison High School in 1976. Her passion and calling was always to teach. She went on to earn her BS in Education from William Patterson University.
Valerie dedicated her life to teaching children with special needs and worked for the Essex Regional Educational Services Commission for close to 40 years.
In her free time, Valerie enjoyed going to concerts, tending her garden at her local community garden, and attending family gatherings. She spent her summers down the shore with her family and at Bee Meadow Pool with her friends. She was caring and inclusive to anyone who crossed her path and she always thought about the needs of others before her own. Valerie touched many lives and will be deeply missed. She will live on in our hearts forever.
Valerie was predeceased by her father Roy Hopkins. She is survived by her mother, Marie Hopkins, her Brother Mark Hopkins and sister-in-law Beth Hopkins, her sister Susan Lizura and her brother –in-law Tim Lizura, her two children, Christopher and Stephanie as well as many nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, a memorial service will be held in the spring/summer of 2021 to ensure the safety of those who would like to pay their respects. Valerie’s family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to provide love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center , www.sthuberts.org, in her memory would be appreciated.
