Obituary of Winifred Mary Knapik
Winifred M Knapik passed away on November 30, 2020. She was 89 years old.
Born in Bronx, NY to parents Francis and Winifred (Gallagher) Deventer, Winifred lived in East Orange before settling in Chester, NJ in 1963. She was a parishioner, Eucharistic Minister and sang in the choir at St. Lawrence RC Church in Chester.
Winifred was an avid reader and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She was a great dancer and served as a Greeter and Corresponding Secretary for the 50+ Club. She worked for the Chester School District as a cook in the Black River Middle School cafeteria for 25 years.
Winifred is predeceased by her son, Charles F Knapik, and her brothers, John and Frank Deventer. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Charles Knapik, son Christopher, daughter, Winifred (Michael) Murphy, granddaughters, Winifred, Samantha, and Katelynn, and great grandchildren, Logan and Ivy and step grandson Jackson.
Due to the current pandemic a memorial mass will be held next year.
