Obituary of Sophie Rose Petrole

Sophie Petrole (nee Pannullo), 98 of Union, peacefully passed away on November 26, 2020.  She said it was time to close this book - what a bestseller it is to her spirit and determination.

Unapologetically honest and selfless she loved deeply.  A life-long NY Yankees fan, she loved Atlantic City, Westerns and cooking - where she always modified a recipe to make it her own. 

Born and raised in Newark, NJ, she married the late James Petrole in 1947 and lived there before moving to Union where she resided for 63 years. 

Sophie is survived by her children, and their spouses, Michael (Linda), Theresa, Gina (Samuel Fornaro) and Jacqueline (Scott Rivera) as well as loving nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her husband James in 2000.

Pursuant to Sophie's wishes, services and entombment are private.  A celebration of her life will be held when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.  The family will send notification as soon as that becomes possible.
