Obituary of Giacomo Pagano
Giacomo Joseph “Giac” Pagano passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2020. He was 87 years old.
Born in the Bronx, NY, to parents Salvatore and Sophie Pagano, Giac attended and graduated from St. Francis High School. He also attended and graduated from St. Francis Seminary in 1954 and Niagara University in 1958. He lived in Morristown, NJ, for most of his life, before settling in Kearny in 2015.
Giac was a long-time teacher at the Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ where he taught Latin and Spanish. He was head of the Big Brothers and Library Departments. An Oblate of St. Benedict, Giac also loved to read, enjoyed Social Media, avid Mets fan and a faithful friend to all.
Giac is predeceased by his parents and beloved sister, Rosemarie Pagano Fuccella. He is survived by his nephews, Mr. Joseph Fuccella of Myrtle Beach, SC, Mr. Michael Fuccella of Yonkers, NY, and niece Mrs. Janine Mianti of Fulton, MD.
A private funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Abbey at Delbarton School, 230 Mendham Rd, Morristown, NJ 07960 on October 17, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Giac will be laid to rest at Mount Saint Mary Cemetery in Queens, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Giac’s memory may be made to Delbarton, St. Abbeys www.delbarton.org.
