Obituary of Ralph J. Calise

ROXBURY TWP - Ralph J. Calise died on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Merry Heart of Succasunna Assisted Living Center of natural causes. He was 91. Born in New York City on July 10, 1920 to the late Venanzio and Mary (Iacono) Calise, he resided in Manhattan until 2009. Mr. Calise was a veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 until 1946 in the United States Army, 100th Battalion. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He was the owner of R. Federman & Co. Paint Store in New York City for many years before retiring. Mr. Calise was predeceased by his wife, the former Froso Routsis. He is survived by his daughters, Joann Trikouros, and Mary Ann Wessel, both of Mendham Township; his brother John Calise of New York; his sister Nancy Vilen of North Carolina; his sister Geraldine Ortaglia of Florida; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were at the funeral home on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 11 AM, with Father Michael Drury officiating. Interment was at Mendham Hilltop Cemetery, with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are requested by the family to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
