I remember cousin Greg as a gentle young man with the most contagious and loving smile. He was always gracious enough to share conversation and laughs with the "girl cousins" even though we were sports illiterate :) I so enjoyed his laughter and great energy when he was in conversation with my older brother about the treasured Boston teams.
With love,
Mariane Hastings Robert (daughter of Dora (Forte) and John Hastings

I've always admired my uncle Greg. When I was younger, my mom (Greg's sister Rose) told me a story about her childhood that has always stuck with me--Uncle Greg would ride his bike to the corner store to get candy and junk food when he was babysitting my Mom and Uncle Guy. He used to let my mom stay up later with him and Guy even though she was six years younger and Nonna wanted her to bed early. It is clear that from a young age Uncle Greg was a role model and a leader.
I love how much my Uncle Greg loved sports. I enjoyed talking to Uncle Greg about sports and shared his competitive nature. He was so invested in not only the Red Sox, but in both Jack and Joe's baseball careers. Uncle Greg made a point to discuss the Red Sox with Nonno, something I know Nonno looked forward to. His commitment to others will be missed but I know it will continue in a new way as he protects his family and friends from heaven.
Uncle Greg was courageous. He reminded me of Nonna in this way. His bravery gave him a positive outlook in even the worst of situations. Uncle Greg had the ability to motivate others. When Nonno thought he would never get back on the golf course, Uncle Greg took him to the driving range and amazingly played golf with him and my Uncle Guy.
Uncle Greg loved to be active. I remember Thanksgiving a few years ago we went to the YMCA and I couldn't believe how he absolutely dominated the spin class.
Uncle Greg will be missed tremendously. I am confident that Jack and Joe will carry on his legacy.

Golfed with this kind and generous young man. Watched him interact with his boys regarding baseball. Loving. Giving. Classy. Top notch. Complimentary. Passionate. Intelligent. Family man. A well lived life. Wish I could have spent more time with him. I’d be a better man for it.
