Obituary of Angelina Orlando

Angelina Orlando, 89, of Montville, NJ passed away on April 1, 2020 at The Chelsea of of Montville. 
 
Angelina was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 12, 1930, the daughter of the late Frank and Carmela Ditaranto. She lived in Brooklyn for much of her life before moving to Dover, New Jersey in later years.  Prior to her retirement, she worked at Swiss Bank Corporation in New York City.  Angelina greatly enjoyed the warmth of simple sunshine, spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and taking long walks around the neighborhoods in which she lived.  Generously compassionate, she loved her family with great affection and a kind, warm heart. She is predeceased by husbands Joseph Carabetta and James Orlando.
 
To cherish her memory, Angie leaves behind her children, Gilda (Jill) and husband John Notar-Francesco of Old Saybrook, CT, Frank Carabetta of Lake Tahoe, California, Carmela and husband Guy Palmiotto of Rockaway, NJ, a sister Ida Russo of West Covina, California, and a brother Angelo and his wife Donna Ditaranto of Cary, NC.  Angelina was blessed with  grandchildren Mariel and husband Steven Zoni, Julia Notar-Francesco, Karena and husband Daniel Lee, Adam and wife Georgianne, Bobby Carabetta, Nicholas and Daniel Palmiotto, and eight great-grandchildren.  She also leaves stepchildren Irene Piazza of Staten Island, NY and Peter and wife Gena Orlando of Brooklyn, NY, along with step grandchildren Theresa Napoli, Laura and husband Jared Palmiotto, Joseph Piazza, Jakub Orlando, and four step great-grandchildren, whom she loved immensely, along with many nieces and nephews. Angelina’s legacy of love not only lives on through her loving family, but also in the cherished memories of all of her friends at The Chelsea.
 
The family extends sincerest thanks to Grace Hospice Healthcare Services and The Chelsea of Montville for the immeasurable, compassionate care they provided in the last years of Angelina’s happy life.
 
Bailey Funeral Home (baileyfuneral.com) in Mendham, NJ, is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no calling hours at this time. Burial will be at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
