Obituary of Mary B. Christensen
Mary B. Christensen passed away peacefully at home in Bedminster, NJ on February 25, 2020. She was 86 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, NY to Patrick Sweeney and Marie Stefanello, she lived in Summit and Short Hills before moving to Bedminster in 2002.
Mary was a legal secretary for Lord, Day & Lord in New York for several years before marrying and having a family. She later returned to her career with Kemper Insurance Company in Summit, NJ.
In Bedminster, Mary was active in St. Brigid and St. Elizabeth Parish in Peapack and Far Hills. Her faith and devotion to the Roman Catholic Church were central to her life.
Her family will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, travel and being with her family wherever that might be.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers Robert Granzow and John Sweeney.
She is survived by her son David of New York, NY, daughter Pamela Christensen of Bedminster, sister-in-law Angelina Sweeney, niece and nephew Maria MacTaggart and John Sweeney, and cousins Barbara Larsen and Jacqueline McCartney. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Charlotte Marie Goldstein.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-7pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main St. Peapack. Funeral Mass is Saturday 10am at St. Brigid Church, Peapack. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY.
