Obituary of Dr. Robert J Praisner

Dr. Robert John Praisner, 88, passed away on December 26, 2019. Born to Florence (Moritz) and Edward A. Praisner on November 10, 1931, Robert grew up with two brothers, Edward and James in Montclair NJ. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1955, achieving a rank of corporal while stationed in Ulm Germany. He earned a B.S. in History from Temple University and a D.D.S. from its school of Dentistry in 1959, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Robert married Wanda Schweizer, from Staten Island, in 1961. After settling in Bedminster NJ with Wanda and starting their family, Robert practiced dentistry in Chester NJ for just over 50 years. They had three sons, Robert P., Stephen, and Thomas. Robert’s passion was his family and traveling the world with them. He also enjoyed simple pleasures such as playing the piano, gardening, following Temple sports, and reading the newspaper. Robert is survived by his wife Wanda, two sons Robert Paul and Thomas, along with his daughter-in-law Cindy and grandchildren, Thomas, Sarah, and Jason. He is predeceased by his son Stephen John in 1986 and both his brothers, Edward and James. Visitation will be held at Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Brigid Church, Peapack on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11 am. Interment to follow in Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
