Obituary of Ann Merritt Clinedinst
Ann Merritt Clinedinst, passed away in her sleep at her home in Basking Ridge, New Jersey on December 2, 2019. Born on November 25, 1932 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and Larchmont, New York. Ann was a graduate of Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. She married Richard W.P. Clinedinst in 1952 and was his devoted partner until Dick’s passing in 2013.
She was a woman of many talents and interests which were reflected in her professional life. She served as a food service director, executive assistant, and continued her mother’s work on behalf of Welcome Wagon. Later she owned Booth Agency Realtors for 20 years with her husband. Ann was an active and vocal advocate for children with disabilities, sharing her gift of being able to connect easily with people as she volunteered at Morristown Hospital, as well as at area public and private schools.
Ann loved mental challenges and read voraciously in her retirement until Alzheimer’s disease took its toll. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandson. She is survived by her son John Merritt Clinedinst of Bernardsville and daughter Nancy Wisneiski of Bridgewater; John’s daughters Jillian, Aubrey and Blythe; Nancy’s sons Thomas and Benjamin; and great grandson Thomas Williams.
