Obituary of Helene Herrman

Helene Kuhn Herrman passed away on October 20, 2019. She was 80 years old.

Born on May 6, 1939 in Orange, NJ, to parents Samuel Vincent and Hellaine Arathusa (nee Packard) Gilman, she grew up in West Orange, NJ with her two siblings Martha and Samuel. She attended and graduated from Kean College, and worked as an elementary school teacher for over 30 years

Helene loved children and adored her job teaching, as well as being a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. She loved spending time at the shore for long walks and collecting sea glass, travelling, and reading mystery novels. She was a loyal supporter of the NY Giants football team and the NY Mets baseball team. Her happiest times were spent with her family and her love for them was incredible and unwavering.

Helene is predeceased by her first husband, Theodore Kuhn III, and her second husband, Robert Herrman. She is survived by three children, Theodore Kuhn and John Kuhn of Mendham, NJ, and Katherine Ruth of Darien, CT. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, from 11:30 to 12:30 PM, at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd, Mendham NJ 07945. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following at 1 PM at St. Joseph Church, W. Main St, Mendham NJ 07945. A private Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 29, in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newburyport, MA.
