Obituary of Rosemary Dorsey

Rosemary Genevieve Dorsey, formerly of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2019 in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.  Rosemary was born and raised in West Orange, N.J.  She attended Our Lady of the Valley Grammar and High School in Orange.  Rosemary graduated from Caldwell College.

Rosemary taught at schools in the Archdiocese of Newark for over forty years, including Our Lady of Lourdes in West Orange and St. Bernard’s in Plainfield.  She was beloved by generations of students at St. Bernard’s, where she taught second grade for many years.

Rosemary is survived by her son Chul Jang, her grandchildren Jesse Jang, Shaina Jang and Aleah Jang; and her great-grandchildren Leilanah Jang, Kaia Jang, Jaida Jang, Christian Jang and Aiden Jang.  Rosemary is also survived by her sister Ann McCarthy, her niece Mary Young and her nephews Michael McCarthy, William McCarthy, Thomas McCarthy and John D. (Jake) McCarthy. 

Friends and relatives are invited to a memorial mass on October 5, 2019 10 am in the chapel of St. Joseph’s Church, 8 West Main Street, Mendham, N.J.
