Obituary of Maureen "May" Scrudato

Maureen (May) Scrudato passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by loved ones at the Advent Health Hospice Care, Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida on August 18, 2019.

May as she was known by family and friends, was born on Sunday, May 4, 1919 in New York City, NY of Bernard Fitzpatrick and Margaret Mcintyre.  At the age of five her family moved to Belleville, NJ. There she was reared and went to school.  She graduated High School in 1938.

She later married John J. Scrudato of Nutley, whom she was happily married for 63 years, until his death in 2011.  She lived in Mendham, NJ for 47 years. She devoted her life to her family and home.

She is survived by her son John Patrick, her daughter Martha, grandson John Paul, brother Bernard Fitzpatrick and 20 nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 from 4-7pm at Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham, NJ.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at 10 am at St. Joseph Church in Mendham.  Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, NJ.
