So sorry to hear of Billy's passing. One of my memories is the time our pet rabbit had babies and Billy took a bunny home to his girls on one of his visits to Clinton, KY.

This photo is from 2010 when Billy stopped by to see Jim. This is my last photo of them together.

This is from 1943. I believe Billy is in the 1st standing row to the right of the sign. The two boys to his left are my father, Jim Brummal in the plaid shirt and Billy Bob Kaler in the hat beside my father. Those are the boys from Clinton KY that I recognize.

So sad to hear of this death. Billy Claxton was a great friend to my father Jim Brummal. They shared birthdays and every year Billy would call my father to exchange birthday wishes. The story goes that the doctor was attending Billy's birth when my grandmother was sent for him to deliver my father! They always enjoyed seeing each other and I cherish their memories they shared with me and the ones I have of these two lifelong friends.

Kathy -- I am so, so sorry to hear of "Mr. Claxton's" passing. (I could never call him by his first name, because he was my boss!) I had the fortune of working with him at the telephone company in Louisville for 10+ years, and he was one of the best bosses anyone could ever ask for. It was always nice to hear from him over the years, and I am truly grateful to be able to call him a friend. Stay strong. God be with you and your family.

To all the Heaslet and Claxton families -- I'm thinking of so many memorable times over the decades (!) with my Kentucky family, and at this moment especially those spent with my cousin Bill: a long-ago Kentucky Derby, a wintry Thanksgiving with Aunt Inez and Bill, not to mention several very special Inez birthday gatherings; Iran, of course; Bill's law school graduation; a quick lunch visit at a NYC airport....I'm sure I'll think of more, but for now, the memories that spring to mind are all good, and all special. Thank you, Bill, for keeping in touch even over these past few years. Love you and will always miss you.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to Kathy Claxton, and my four nieces (daughters of William Claxton): Cathy, Daphne, Stephanie, and Jennifer. I have very fond memories of my beloved brother-in-law: he was always caring, loving, helpful, and considerate. He was brilliant but had great humility and a sense of humor. Grand memories of him would take pages to relate. Suffice it to say he was a great human being and a true Christian— he will be greatly missed.

Bill and I met in 2002, he owned an adjoining property. He treated me as if I were family, always friendly and kind. He also treated my blood family very graciously, especially my oldest grandson. I'll always remember the good times at deer and turkey camp. You can't buy that kind of friendship. Most of the faces from the early camp days have left this world now. Bill my friend, I will truly miss you. I wish I had spent more time getting to know Bill. The word tells us we will be reunited with our loved ones some day, if we follow Gods word and are saved. God bless you all, every family member.

I know that no words can help ease the pain and loss that you are feeling right now. May you find comfort in the people that surround you and the wonderful memories you carry in your mind and in your heart. May the words of Matthew 5:4 “ Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” bring the entire family comfort and strength. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Bill was a wonderful man and a great friend to my family and especially my dad Wayne. We were so glad to get to visit a couple of summers ago in New Jersey. It meant so much to my mom Linda. Your family is in our prayers.
