Kevin Savage

Obituary of Kevin Daniel Savage

Kevin Daniel Savage – beloved son and brother, loyal friend, talented guitarist, fierce athlete, a beacon of kindness with a passion for adventure and fellowship. Kevin was a graduate of Somerville H.S. and Family School and attended the University of Alabama.

Kevin Daniel Savage, 25, of Bedminster, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 in Ventnor City, NJ where he lived and worked as a banking professional. He enjoyed walking along the calm ocean shore during his last year of life. His family is comforted that he is now at peace.

Kevin was born in New Brunswick, NJ to James and Elizabeth (McCue) Savage on March 31, 1993. He was the youngest of three brothers, and an exceptional athlete in his youth. Kevin enjoyed lacrosse, football, basketball, baseball and soccer and competed against his older brothers to sharpen his skills. He earned many nicknames during his childhood, but the one that stuck with his friends and family was “Fuzzy”, which accurately reflected his soft and kind spirit.

Kevin was very close to his Godmother Nancy Carey and Godfather Uncle John McCue, devout Catholics who shined Christ’s light in Kevin’s life throughout his childhood. Kevin was a man of faith with an intense love for God. More recently, Kevin had taken up fishing and guitar as dedicated passions and hobbies. He was a self-taught guitarist, and he enjoyed challenging himself by learning classic rock and folk songs. Kevin’s guitar displayed many quotes from the Bible, most notably Luke 1:28 “A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful.” Kevin’s new day is upon us.

Kevin is survived by his loving family: parents, James (Anna) and Elizabeth, and brothers, James (Cassie) and Brian. Kevin is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins of the McCue/Garvey clan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Mercy of New Jersey, Mid-Atlantic Community, 1645 US Highway 22, Watchung, NJ 07069.

We thank our extended family and friends for their many contributions and impacts on Kevin’s life. Kevin’s kindness, gentleness, pure heart and his contagious smile will be remembered forever.
