Obituary of Horace K. Corbin
Horace K. Corbin, III "Terry", 70, of Harding Township, died suddenly on April 16, 2011.
Terry Corbin was born April 17, 1940 and grew up in South Orange, NJ, with his parents Horace Kellogg Corbin, Jr. and Edith Milbank Corbin, and his sister Marcia Corbin. He attended The Pingry School, Phillips Academy Andover, Trinity College, and the Wharton School of Business. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He married Emilie Wood in 1965 prior to moving to Harding Township, where they settled to raise their family. He completed his banking career as a VP of PNC Bank and was involved with the Community Foundation of New Jersey for many years.
Terry was an active member of the community and of the First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He loved to sing as well as play a variety of musical instruments. He enjoyed hiking, cross-country skiing, fly-fishing, photography, and sailing. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and always had a friendly greeting for all.
Survivors include his wife Emilie Wood Corbin of New Vernon; one son Horace K. Corbin, IV "Cort" of Gladstone; three daughters Liesl Rexford of Fairfield, CT, Gretchen Corbin of VW Eurovan, USA and Brie Corbin Lanthier of Hoboken, NJ. He is also survived by his sister Marcia Corbin of Aspen, CO and his 4 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday April 21, 2011 at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon, Lee's Hill Rd., New Vernon. Interment will be private.
