Obituary of Elizabeth L. Dormer
Elizabeth (Betty) L. Dormer passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 23, 2018. She was 99 years old.
Betty was born in Hackensack, NJ, to parents Chester and Clara Bella (Olmsted) Wells. She moved to Mendham, NJ in 1946 where she resided for the duration of her life. During her 60 plus year affiliation with the Community of St. John Baptist, she served as a devoted Associate and Staffer.
Betty will be remembered for her quirky sayings, her knack for playing cards, her enjoyment of singing and dancing, and for all of the love and time she put into her family, friends, and work.
Betty is predeceased by her husband, Thomas Dormer, and her sister, Florence Wells Graynor. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Kopec and her husband Kenneth; grandchildren Stephen Kopec, Matthew Kopec, Lindsay Stein and her husband Daniel; great granddaughters Madeline and Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on, September 15, 2018, at the Community of St. John Baptist, 82 W. Main St, Mendham, NJ 07945. A repast will be held on site immediately following the services at the Convent. In lieu of flowers, Betty’s family would appreciate donations made in her name to the Community of St. John Baptist.
