Obituary of Gayle Garner
Gayle Garner passed away at Morristown Medical Center on June 22, 2018, due to pancreatic cancer. She was 68.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, to parents Albert and Myra Exler, Gayle grew up in Bloomfield before moving to Tucson, Arizona, to attend the University of Arizona with her future husband and father to her children, John Garner (deceased). She returned to New Jersey in 1982, where she settled in Morris County to raise her children and build a successful real estate business. She lived in Bedminster for the past 6 years.
Gayle was a real estate agent for Keller Williams Towne Square Realty in Basking Ridge, and a great one at that, earning multiple accolades and awards throughout her career, including a spot in the company’s President’s Club in 2010. Her experience was vast, having been previously employed by Weichert Realtors in Chester, NJ where she was a recipient of Silver, Gold, and Platinum Circle of Excellence awards. When she wasn’t selling dream homes to her clients, she loved spending time outdoors, golfing, taking long hikes with the family dog, and spending time with her children.
Gayle is survived by her mother Myra (nee Gutshall) Exler and sister Linda Valderrama of Florida; son Rob Garner of New Jersey; daughter Katie Garner of Washington, D.C.; nieces Stacey and Melissa, and nephew Jamie, of New Jersey.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Gayle’s name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Ste. 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.
