Obituary of Marion L. Panella
Marion Lois Panella passed away peacefully on May 23, 2018. She was 88.
She was born and raised in Morristown, New Jersey, and moved to Mendham in 1951 where she was active in the Women’s Auxiliary Fire Department for many years, as well as a loyal parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
Marion began working as a phone operator at Bell Telephone, but moved on to Four Seasons Landscaping in Mendham, and found her place as the Executive Secretary for the Morris County Board of Realtors. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, the late Liber Panella, her parents John and Margaretta Simmons, and her two brothers, Jack and Harold; she is survived by her son Daniel T. Panella and his wife Carol of Livingston, New Jersey, and her daughter Janice Panella Legg of Mendham, New Jersey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit on Saturday, May 26 from 1-4 PM with a prayer service by Father Michael Drury at 3:30 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mendham Borough Fire Department at 24 E Main Street, Mendham, NJ 07945, a place where Marion dedicated herself to her community.
