Obituary of Doris V Stober

Doris S. Stober, born on September 1, 1918, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2018 at the age of 99.

Doris was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, until moving to Mount Tabor, NJ and then to Morris Plains, NJ in 1952 with her husband, the late Charles N. Stober.

She, along with her husband, were active parishioners of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Morris Plains, NJ. In addition to being a homemaker for her family, for 16 years Doris was also a Financial Comptroller for Fairleigh Dickinson University at the Florham-Madison, NJ campus. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and spent the next 25 years as a volunteer supporting many church as well as local civic and philanthropic organizations including the Morris Museum. Her varied interests included gardening, sewing, cooking as well as watching and rooting for her favorite sports teams.

Doris is survived by her son Douglas Stober (Nancy) of Mendham, daughter Charlotte Sliver (John) of Frelinghuysen Twp., grandchildren Jason Sliver (Mandy), Carrie Iosca (Christopher), Dana DeMartino and James R. DeMartino, and great-grandchildren Alexander Iosca, and Eli and Emma Dettman.

A private family service and burial were held.

A memorial service and communion to celebrate Doris’ life will take place on Saturday May 12th at 11 AM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 29 Hillview Ave, Morris Plains, NJ 07950.
