MENDHAM - Richard S. DiNolfo died on March 30, 2011 at Morristown Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 80. Born in Rochester, NY to the late Jacob and Helen (Chiappetta) DiNolfo on January 30, 1931, he was a resident of Buffalo, NY before moving to Mendham 43 years ago. He graduated from the University of Michigan, received a Masters Degree from MIT, and attended Harvard Law School, before serving in the United States Army from 1955-1957 Mr. DiNolfo was an aeronautical and electrical engineer who worked on guidance systems for NASA and the U.S. Defense Dept., and satellite technology before his retirement in 1999. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth DiNolfo of Arlington, MA, and Lisa Freach of Tobyhanna, PA, and their husbands Steven Jurgensmeyer, and Joseph; sister Arlene Witzel and brother James of Webster, NY; five grandchildren; and his former wife Linda Patterson DiNolfo. Interment will follow the service at the Mendham Hilltop Cemetery.
