Obituary of Maria Fernanda Smith

Maria Fernanda Smith died at her home in Mendham on Jan 26, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 47. Fernandahad a nursing degree andworked as a Nurse at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown formany years. Shealso volunteered extensivelyat the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation in Morristown. Fernanda was a wonderfulwife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin,and friend. Survivors include herbeloved husband Gregory Smith of Mendham,son Daniel Smith anddaughter Sydney Smith both at home. She is also survived byher parents, Silvia and Alceu Macedo and loving brothers and sisters, Donald, Lizeth, Valdir, Maria, Olavo, and Vinny. Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday Jan. 29, 2008 from 4-8pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd. Mendham. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday at 10am at The Church of the Assumption, Maple Ave., Morristown. Interment will be private.Inlieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G.
