Obituary of Michael T. DeLucas
Michael T. DeLucas died on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at his home in Bedminster, New Jersey, with his wife, Susan MacDonald-DeLucas and his daughter, Michelle Webb, at his side.
Born in Newark, he was raised in Peapack before making Bedminster his home.
Mickey (GiGi, Boss) was the owner of the Peapack Hotel for some years as well as Mickey's Bar.
He was very active in AA for over 30 years and helped many people dealing with this illness. He loved to fish and spent many hours in a boat fishing with his brother-in-law Paul "Uncle" Kensek and also with his grandson Mikey whom he taught to fish.
His family will remember him as a loving father and grandfather, a great storyteller and a supportive friend to most who knew him.
In addition to his wife and daughter, Mickey leaves two stepsons-in-law, Michael (Mindy) Hoppe and John (Randi) Hoppe, and an adoring grandson Michael Hoppe and two loving granddaughters, Una and Autumn Hoppe.
He also Leaves behind Michael Webb, son-in-law and two grandchildren, Christian and Caroline Webb and an adopted son, Kingsley Hill (Patti) and a newborn grandson.
Visitation was held at the Bailey Funeral Home in Peapack. A Funeral Mass was held at St. Lawrence Church in Chester. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Pottersville Group, P.O. Box 109, Pottersville, NJ, 07979, or the Visiting Nurse Assoc. of Somerset Hills, 200 Mt. Airy Rd., Basking Ridge, in his memory, would be appreciated.
