Obituary of Kathryn Marie Lanning

Kathryn Marie Lanning died peacefully on March 2, 2011, at Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ. She was 103 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY she lived in Garden City, Long Island for 60 years before moving to Heath Village. Mrs. Lanning was a member of the St. Joseph's Church, St. Joseph's Women's Guild along with the Garden City Community Club and Garden City Country Club. She was also a member of the Sun & Surf Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, NY. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved her Irish Heritage and had a great sense of humor. She was predeceased by her husband William G. Lanning Sr., and her son William G. "Sammy" Lanning Jr. Survivors include one daughter Lois Beairsto and her husband Thomas of Homosassa FL, formerly of Mendham, NJ, and her daughter in law Jan Scopes of Stewart Manor, NY, She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday March 7, 2011 from 9-10am at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham, NJ. Followed by Funeral Mass at10:30am at St. Joseph's Church, Mendham, NJ. Interment will be Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY.
