Obituary of William T Placek

William T. Placek, of Flanders, NJ, died suddenly on Dec. 31st, 2010. He was 66. Born in Concord, NH he lived in Maywood, Hopatcong and Pipersville, PA before moving to Flanders 15 years ago. Bill worked as a Building Engineer for Lincoln Properties in Basking Ridge, NJ for the last 3 years, prior to that he worked at Stepan Chemical in Maywood and at Treasure Island Boy Scout Camp in Pipersville, PA. He was a former Cub Scout Pack Leader for Pack 74 in Maywood. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather who was always willing to help and serve others. He is survived by his loving wife Fran Placek, of Flanders; two sons Peter Placek (Malaya) of Goose Creek, SC and Tommy Potts and his fianc Mary Ann of Landing; two daughters Danianne Gancy (Christopher) of Lanoka Harbor, and Kristin Horstman of Flanders; and one brother Wayne G Placek (Barbara) of Oradell,. He is also survived by his mother in law Mary Mercurio of Mendham, his 7 grandchildren Brendan, Ashley, Janine, Owen, Mason, Jannah, Arielle and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday Jan. 7, from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. A funeral service will be held on Friday evening at 8:30pm. Cremation will be private www.baileyfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
