Obituary of Betty Jean Ainsworth

GLADSTONE - Betty Jean Fosnight Tiger Ainsworth passed away peacefully at Morristown Memorial Hospital on July 18, 2010 surrounded by her three oldest daughters and granddaughter. She was 87. Born in Indiana to the late William Robert and Marie (Baird) Fosnight, she was a resident of Peapack-Gladstone Borough for many years before moving to Florida in 1971, and returning to Morristown five years ago to the Spring Hills Assisted Living Center. She lived her last years living vivaciously with such activities as gardening, knitting, bell choir, and crafting. She was a homemaker. Betty was a member of the Peapack-Gladstone First Aid and Rescue Squad, and served on the NJ State First Aid Council with her late husband Bill Ainsworth. She was an active Girl Scout Leader for many years. Betty had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse, serving both in nursing homes and private duty. Betty was the mother of five children and grandmother to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Ann Kizer. She is survived by her cherished children and their families, George J. Tiger, Jr. of Gladstone; Dr. Susan Strodtbeck of Victorville, CA; Marguerite Marie Tiger of Pittstown NJ; Barbara J. Knox of Bedminster; Rebecca Jean Conners of Bridgeton; and stepdaughters Nettie Buza and Lillian Ainsworth of El Paso, TX.
