Obituary of Yvonne-Eugenie Passmore

Yvonne-Eugenie Passmore Yvonne-Eugenie Passmore died at home after a short illness on Saturday June 19, 2010. She was born in Scarsdale, NY on June 17, 1917 to the late Eugene and Rose Clare Sichel. She lived in Basking Ridge, Mendham and Brookside NJ. Yvie was a graduate of Smith College. She was employed as a French teacher at Far Hills Country Day School and at The Gill School. She also worked at Anson Newton and was part-owner of the Mendham Stitchery in Mendham. She read extensively and reviewed new books for The Bookworm in Bernardsville. She was a member of the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club, served as a volunteer at The Seeing Eye in Morristown for more than 25 years, and volunteered at Morristown Memorial Hospital. Yvie was a Board Member of the VNA of Somerset Hills and volunteered at many of their rummage sales over the years. Yvie was predeceased by her husband, Richard C. Passmore and by her son Richard C. Passmore, Jr. She is survived by her two daughters; Christine Khoudja of Morristown and Denise Ring of Dallas. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Police Officer Adam Khoudja & Darleen of Wayne, Sarah & Colin East of Morristown and Derek Khoudja of Glen Gardner; Willie Ring of Denver and Dr. Ashley & David Gair of Dallas and 2 great-grandchildren, Jackson & Wyatt Gair. A memorial service will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to The Seeing Eye of Morristown or the VNA Somerset Hills Hospice of Bernardsville would be appreciated.
