Obituary of Theodore J. Corcoran, Jr.

Theodore "Ted" J. Corcoran, Jr., passed away on Thursday March 4, 2010 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was 80. Born in Summit, NJ, he graduated from Summit High School in 1947. He lived in Chatham Township before moving to Mendham in 1968. He joined the Marine Corps in 1948, served during the Korean War and was involved in the Chosin Reservoir Conflict. He was a member of the Bernays Apgar American Legion Post 342 in Chester. He also was a member of the 1st Marine Corps Division Association and The Chosin Few. Ted was a wholesale liquor salesman for Fleming & McCaig for 19 years. He later co-owned the Pottersville Deli for 6 years before he purchased and operated Ted's Deli in Stanhope for 19 years. He retired in 2005. He was predeceased by his brother Edward and his sister Margaret "Peggy" Ahern. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kathleen McHale Corcoran, son Theodore P. Corcoran and his wife Tiffiny of Destin, FL, and daughter Nancy Bottona and her husband Dean of Succasunna. He is also survived by sister Patricia Reavey and her husband John of New Providence and grandchildren Hope and Meredith Corcoran and David and Joseph Bottona. A graveside service will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010 at 11:30am at the Fairmount Cemetery, 233 Hillside Ave., Chatham.
