Obituary of Edward P. Hayward
Edward P Hayward died on Jan. 14, 2010 at the NJ Fireman's Home in Boonton. He was 84.
Born in Morristown he was a lifelong resident of Morristown.
Mr. Hayward was a Black Seal Boiler operator for Morris County Vo-Tech for 6 years before retiring in 1991. Prior to that he was a Manager at Morey-LaRue Laundry in
Morristown for 33 years.
He served in the Marine Corps from 1943-1946 and saw action in the South Pacific and China. He was a member of the China Marine Assoc.
He was a 63 year Member of the Hillside Hose Company in Morris Township where he was a past Captain. He was a member of the NJ Firemen's Exempt Assoc. and the NJ Fireman's Relief Assoc.
He was a member of the Senior Citizen's of Morris Township and also coached Morristown National Little League.
He is survived by his wife of 60 and years, Betty Anderson Hayward, one son, John Hayward and his wife, Nancy, of Allenstown, NH, 3 grandchildren, Brooks and his wife Christine, and Caton and Matthew Hayward. He is also survived by Fred and Mary Horn of Richmond Va, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 23, 2010, at 11am at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham. For those desiring, donations to the NJ Fireman's Home, 565 Lathrop Ave., Boonton, NJ 07005, in his memory, would be appreciated.
