Obituary of Jay B. Smith

Jay B. Smith, of Mendham, passed away at Lincoln Park Care Center on Saturday, November 25, 2017 after a long illness. He was 78.

Born in Newark to the late James E. and Alice (Benjamin) Smith, he lived in Newark and Chatham before moving to Mendham in 1965.

He was purchasing agent for Automatic Switch Company in Florham Park for over 30 years, retiring in 1994, and later the co-owner with his wife of Suburban Building Services.

Survivors include his wife, Karen (nee Frahm); two sons, Kirk and Craig; two daughters, Leslie Navarino and Steffani Adaska; and nine grand-children.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 10am-noon. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow services at the Mendham Hilltop Cemetery.
