I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy 30 years ago when my brother Nick Politan invited me to a "jig dyer" meeting at Mascio's in Lyndhurst. He and my brother had special bond and my brother valued his opinions. I attended many dinners and even few trips Monmouth Park Racetrack with Mr. Grifo. He was great man who I have always respected as a knowledgeable and down to earth person.
My condolences to The Grifo family, the "Chief" was a great guy and will be missed by all. He raised a great family who have a lot to be thankful for. I am sure he leaves you with many wonderful memories.
My deepest condolences to all of the Grifo's. Being one of 8 myself, I know what a special kind of chaos and love our families have. May he rest in peace and may you all hold his memory forever in your hearts.
We lost a great man. Not one that you read about in the newspapers or see on TV; just a quiet man with a fierce love for his family, a role model, a decent human being, tolerant and respectful of others and one who loved to see the smiles of his children and grandchildren and family. Just shy of 93 years we will miss him but know that we are blessed and grateful.
