Dearest Donna and family, I am so sorry for your loss. The memorial photos posted capture the wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa that Rudolph was in life. Donna, I lost my own dad in 2013. I still, and will probably always well up when I think of him, and I think of him almost everyday. A dad is the most precious thing to loose, and the loss leaves a hole so big and deep. But there is a Helen Keller quote that I truly love: “What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, For all that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” Your dad, husband, grandpa, is a part of you. We were lucky to have someone so special in our lives, someone who we will forever miss and hold dear. May he rest in peace, my friend.

The true measure of a man is not his wealth or fame but the legacy he leaves behind - a great family, wonderful friends and the largess of his heart. Rudy Wenzel epitomized this and his sudden and untimely passing has left a void that will be hard to fill. May his soul rest in peace!

Rudy was truly one of a kind! He taught me one of the most important lessons of my entire career as a lawyer, & that was how to have fun with the legal profession & not to take yourself too seriously. As a new, young attorney right out of law school, there was never a dull moment working with Rudy throughout our years together at the Bergen County Counsel's Office. Some of my fondest memories of Rudy are from our office holiday celebrations because not only was he the life of the party, but it was always clear how much he loved life in general, especially his family. When Rudy left the County Counsel's Office, he gave me his trial bag & said "take care of this for me kid"...that bag is still here on the side of my desk & wheneover I see it, I always think of Rudy with a smile & I will never forget him!
To Janet, Rudy's daughters, grandchildren & the rest of his family, I'm so very sorry for your loss. May all of the many memories that you all shared together always keep him alove in your hearts.

Rudy, your passing is a great loss to me and Kanta since our association goes back to 1978. You were always gracious, caring, great company and I remember all the great times that we had conversing and sharing a bottle of wine. We will miss you. May your soul rest in peace.

I am absolutely stunned with this announcement. I had no idea that Rudy had any illness. I always enjoyed our get-together at the CHS reunions. I am so sorry for you and your entire family.
Having lost my wife of over 50 years in January, I know what you are going through and the loneliness that lies ahead .
God is our caregiver and will help you in your new walk. If you ever want to talk or need a different shoulder to cry on, just give me a call. That's what longtime friends are for. You can't carry this load all alone. I am placing both you and Rudy on our parish prayer list.
My prayers are with you.......I feel your hurt.....Rob

Janet, and the family of Rudy: Marcia & I extend our sincere sympathy on the passing of Rudy. It was 1958, first semester-freshman year at Rider College when I first met Rudy. We, along with others, were going to the TKE fraternity house affairs, hoping for a bid from TKE. What a day when we received our bids to join the fraternity. After a challenging pledge season we were made brothers of TKE. We developed a lasting bond for life during our fraternity days: as roommates during our sophmore year, to three years on the football field, and many, many experiences in the TKE house and college. Rudy was a leader, strong & fit, but always gentle with his fraternity brothers. His loyalty, and friendship was always there. We all developed a bond, and a love for each other. Rudy was greatly respected, and is sadly missed. I will miss his strong hug, his strong voice of happiness when meeting with the fraters. Rudy was 1 of 1, no one had his strength, his strong will power, and more dedication to his friends. We have loss a brother who's reputation as a dear friends was well earned. When the fraters gather, Rudy, your name, your deeds, your accomplishments, will live on forever in our hearts. Until we meet again...

You have been my dear friend ever since we met at Rider College just over 50 years ago.
I cherish our friendship and while there were gaps in our seeing each other, it didn't matter we just resumed where we left off. While times have changed we didn't, you were and are a great fraternal brother.
We shared many laughs together in good times and bad. You will always be remembered in my prayers. Love you, God always bless you and be with you.
Our prayers are with Janet and your family in this difficult time. Your friend and brother always. Joe and Louise
