Dr. David H. Bergstrom of Kiawah Island, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025. He was 71 years old.

Born on April 3, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Robert and Grace Bergstrom, David graduated from the University of Michigan with M.S. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, where he met and married his beloved wife, Tamie. He went on to graduate from the University of Utah with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics in 1985.

David dedicated his 35-year career to New Drug Development across international pharmaceutical companies in New Jersey. After retiring in 2020, he settled on Kiawah Island, South Carolina.

David enjoyed family ski trips in the Utah mountains and traveling internationally with his family. In retirement, he loved spending time on the Kiawah golf courses. David also volunteered his time with the Kiawah Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the natural habitat and beauty of the island for future generations.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Grace Bergstrom.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dr. Tamie Bergstrom; his son, Sean Bergstrom (wife Dr. Jennifer Bergstrom); his grandchildren, Grace, Madeline, and Emma Bergstrom; his elder brother, Michael Bergstrom (wife Julie); and his younger brother, Richard Bergstrom (wife Beth).

He will be interred at Mendham Hilltop Cemetery in New Jersey following a Memorial Service at Bailey Funeral Home on August 20, 2026.
