Barbara J "Honey" Knox Obituary

Barabara J. “Honey” Knox (nee Tiger) passed away with her children by her side on April 9, 2026. She was 78 years old.

Born in Akron, OH, to parents George J. Sr. and Betty (Ainsworth) Tiger, Honey was raised in Gladstone. She attended and graduated from Rutgers University with her bachelor degree and Kean University with her Master’s degree.  She moved to Bernardsville to raise her family, relocated to Bedminster later, and retired to Mount Royal, NJ, 10 years ago. She was a woman of faith and a parishioner of both the Peapack Dutch Reformed Church and later Pluckemin Presbyterian Church.

Honey was very active in her community and was always there to lend a hand. She served as a board member for St. John Baptist Convent in Mendham, as well as the Head of the English Department for their girls’ boarding school. She also spent over 15 years advocating and caring for patients and families at Holly Manor Nursing Home as the Director of Social Services. Honey loved spending time with her grandchildren and her cats, long walks, enjoying the outdoors at Hacklebarney State Park, and trips to Cape May with her sister Becky.

Honey is survived by her daughter, Natashka Wallace, son Richard (Carrie) Knox, grandson Dylan (Courtney), granddaughter Lily, brother George Tiger Jr., sisters Susan and Nettie, many nieces and nephews and her beloved companion, Kitty Lamar. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Jaycee Walker, and sisters Becky and Margie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 176 Main Street, Peapack. In lieu of flowers, donations in Honey’s memory may be made to the Lift Every Woman Fund at the University of Pennsylvania.
