Sister Josita truly left an impact on me as a student in Holy Family school in the 80’s. I fondly remember her joining us seventh graders in a game of kickball on the blacktop during recess. She was a fierce competitor and always there to support the students in work and play. She always had a smile on her face for me. I remember making her something in art class that she kept displayed in her office and it always made me feel special when I saw it in there. God bless her may she rest in peace. My condolences to her family. So grateful to have known her. Kelly Conway

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Sister Josita, my very favorite teacher. I was her student when she taught 8th grade at St Michael’s School in Elizabeth in 1979. I will never forget her joy, her love, and compassion for her students and her imitation of Christ’s unconditional love towards others. I echo the sentiments of my former classmates when I say that Sister Josita left an indelible mark in our hearts and our childhood memories of someone we loved, admired and who we knew loved us back. May she rest in peace

Sr. Josita, during an Antioch weekend at St. Mary’s in Wharton, patiently introduced me to the Holy Spirit in real, understandable terms. Thanks to her, God became living for the first time ever for me. This changed my life. She was a remarkable sister with a profound influence.
Love,
Deacon Frank Vezzuto

Sr. Josita lived with me when she came to Greensboro, NC to help with the St. Francis Springs Prayer Center ministry that Fr. Louis Canino, ofm, started. She was an inspiration and deeply loved by our community, and we asked her back on numerous occasions after she had returned to NJ, to provide retreats for our groups.
It was a pure gift to have her living with me. We had many, many moments of joy and laughter and I learned a lot from her.
We have lost a shining light!
Love, Ann Bauer

Deep condolences to Sr. Josita's family and to the Sisters of Christian Charity. My memory of Sr. Josita was her always exuberant and beautiful smiles, greetings that always left me surprised that a Sister could be so completely full of great joy and warmth. I never had the privilege to know her but her ever lively and welcoming greetings to me touched me very much and left me speechless every time.. May she rest in the peace and the joy of heaven.
