Born in Massachusetts, Burke lived in several different states before ultimately settling in New Jersey. Here, he met and married his beloved wife Gail, and they raised their three cherished children together.

After graduating from Boston University, Burke went on to obtain a law degree from Northeastern University School of Law.

Burke was a founding partner of his New Jersey based law firm in 1981. He went on to become a NJ Supreme Court certified civil trial attorney, specializing in medical malpractice law. He published numerous articles and lectured for the State Bar Association and NJ Medical Society, among other achievements in the legal field.

He also served as Vice President of the Leukemia Society of America, Northern New Jersey Chapter.

Burke was an avid sports lover, often playing basketball, golf, tennis, paddle tennis, and in his family’s Thanksgiving Day football games. He was a member of Mendham Golf & Tennis Club. He loved attending his children’s sporting events, coaching several teams throughout the years. Throughout all these activities, he and Gail developed many longtime and heartfelt friendships. He also enjoyed writing in his spare time.

He loved spending time with his beautiful wife Gail, traveling, volunteering, and attending mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Mendham. Family was a main focus of his life, and he and Gail prioritized spending time with their children and grandchildren.

His wisdom, warm smile, and welcoming spirit will be forever missed.
