Alfonso Preziosi, affectionately known as Al or "Funzy," passed away at the age of 92.

Born in 1933 in Morristown, New Jersey, Alfonso was the beloved son of the late Emilio and Consolata (Porfido) Preziosi, who immigrated to the United States from San Potito, Avellino, Campania, Italy.

A resident of Morristown NJ for many years, Alfonso served proudly in the United States Army during the 1950s. He went on to dedicate 27 years to the Morristown Police Department, rising to the rank of Lieutenant before retiring in 1988.

In retirement, Alfonso enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family. His greatest joy came from being with his cherished grandsons, of whom he was immensely proud.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Josephine.

Alfonso is survived by his daughter JoAnn and son-in-law Christopher Metzler of South Carolina; his daughter Sandra and son-in-law Rafael Guzman of Mendham, New Jersey; his grandson Nick and granddaughter-in-law Céline Metzler of London, England; and his grandson RJ Guzman of Mendham, New Jersey.

He is also survived by his brother Paul Preziosi; a sister-in-law, Ingie Preziosi; a brother-in-law, Joseph Sherman; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Guido Preziosi (and sister-in-law Maryann) and Anthony Preziosi; his sisters, Viola Venezia (and brother-in-law Bill), Helen Sherman, and Linda Bernhardt; and his sister-in-law, Barbara Preziosi.

Alfonso will be remembered for his deep devotion to family, his service to his community, his passion for fishing and his kind and spirited nature.
