Obituary of Thomas Edward Grajauskas
Thomas E. Grajauskas passed away on November 30, 2025. He was 41 years old.
Born in New York, NY, to parents Harvey and Kathy (Kruimer) Grajauskas, Tom attended and graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest. A perpetual student with a thirst for knowledge, Tom went on to obtain his BA in History from Gettysburg College, a BS in Nursing from UMDNJ, and his Masters in Health Informatics from Drexel University. He settled in Oxford in 2013 with his family and had been a resident since.
After years of working in the ER at Newark Beth Israel, Tom transitioned to NYU Langone as the Quality Improvement Project Manager. He was a passionate, charismatic, adventurous soul who loved to burst into laughter any moment he could. Tom’s infectious sense of humor and magnetic personality gained him many friends over the years, won the heart of the love of his life Rebecca “Becky” Kraeutler, and made him a dedicated, loving step-father to her three children, of whom he absolutely adored. Being proactive and resilient were important to Tom, as he loved to test his endurance while hiking, camping, and spending time outdoors, always on the lookout for new paths, even completing part of the Appalachian Trail. A poetic writer, he often journaled his experiences and observations in the wild, finding comfort in solitude. He enjoyed sports, always cheering on the Yankees and the Giants and excelled as a track thrower during high school and went on to box and weightlift in college. He was a WWII buff, enthusiastically educating those around him with generous facts and survivalist stories of his heroes. He loved snowy evening walks and all things Halloween.
Tom is predeceased by his beloved wife Rebecca “Becky” Kraeutler, and his mother Kathy Grajauskas. He is survived by his step-children Shannon, Wyatt, and Jasper Brown, father Harvey Grajauskas, sister Lydia Grajauskas and his extended family and friends, as well as his furry companion, Nikki the terrier.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7, from 12-2 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham, immediately followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to One Tree Planted.
