Obituary of Carolyn Leloia

Carolyn Leloia (64) passed away on November 30, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Montclair and raised in Morristown, making the town she loved her home for life. Born the daughter of Beatrice and Frank J. she was a loving sister to Frank P. (Beth) and their sons Nick (Kaitlyn) and Jack; brother Jeff; and sister Arlene. She was married to the love of her life, Jack Swift and was a wonderful, adoring mother to her son, Kyle, as well as her daughters Kathy Swift and Tricia Sikorski (Rob). She was also a proud grandmother to Alissa (Ryan), Rob and Patrick and great grandmother to Tate and Walker.

She loved her family immensely and liked nothing more than showering the people she loved with gifts of all kinds. She was a graduate of Morristown High School and Rutgers University. She was a Scarlet Knight through and through. After graduation, she got her first job from the only employer she would have her entire adult life, AT&T. She began her career there in 1983 and never retired.

Carolyn was a sports fanatic. Her favorite teams included all Rutgers teams, the Yankees, Giants and Chelsea. She watched every Yankee game throughout the seasons. One of her happiest moments was being at the 1996 World Series, Game 6 with her mom, Arlene, and Jack when the Yankees won it all.  Carolyn also was passionate about Fantasy Football and managed teams for years.

She also loved her time down the shore and would spend each summer on Long Beach Island for weeks at a time. It was truly her happy place.

Carolyn was predeceased by her loving mom, Beatrice, in 2017 and her brother Jeff, in 2019 but was surrounded by the love of her remaining family at her passing.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, from 4-8 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, December 5, at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Abbey, 230 Mendham Rd, Morristown, followed by interment at Holy Rood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carolyn’s memory can be made to St. Mary’s Abbey, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or St. Huberts Animal Welfare Center.
