Obituary of Marcelle Dunn Holmes

Marcelle “Marcie” Holmes passed away at home with her family on November 14, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. She was 64 years old.

Born November 4, 1961, in Wilmington, DE, Marcie was raised by her parents John W. and Marylou Fields. They later moved to Chatham Township, NJ, where Marcie graduated from Chatham Township High School. 

Marcie and her husband of 43 years, Richard “Rick” Holmes settled in Mendham, NJ in 1988 where they raised their four children. Marcie and Rick owned and operated Main Street Kennels in Mendham for over 25 years. She later owned a mobile grooming business. 

Marcie is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband, Rick, her children Brian (Caitlin) Holmes, Megan (Emmanuel) Holmes, Greg (Katie) Holmes, Kevin Holmes, and her dog Jennie, as well as many extended family members, friends, and the community she served for many years.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 1, from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Road, Mendham. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marcie’s memory may be made to Randolph Regional Animal Shelter or CASA.
