Obituary of Elaine Esther Gordon

Elaine Esther Gordon passed away peacefully on Sept 28, 2025 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville.  She was 92.

Born in Brooklyn NY to Sol and Rose Asch. She moved to NJ in 1963. She lived in Rockaway (WML)  NJ before moving to Denville where she resided for her remaining years.

Elaine and her husband Alen were devoted to each other for 73 years and shared a love story like no other. Their love story started many years ago when Alen asked to tie her skates at a roller-skating rink. They were 12 years old. They met again in high school where their relationship blossomed. After getting engaged when they were 18 Elaine and Al married at 19.   A love story of 73 years like no other was made.

Elaine was a gifted Piano Teacher and beloved by all her students.  Bestowing upon her students young and old, her talents of classical music. Elaine gave recitals every year so her students could shine.  Her students learned not only notes and rhythms but also patience, discipline and the joy of creating something beautiful. At home, her piano was the heartbeat of family gatherings, where laughter and music filled the air.

Family was always the center of her life. Elaine was a devoted wife a loving mother, and took pride in all of her children, Grand Children and Great Grand Children.

Elaine is survived by:

The love of her life, Alen Gordon.

Her loving children: her daughter Robyn and Husband Seth, son Guy and wife Laurie, daughter Bambi and Partner Tim, son Evan and partner Catherine.

Elaine cherished her Grandchildren: Tyler and Partner Amy, Matthew, Amanda and Husband Chris, Ashley, Mindy and Partner David, Tiffany and Husband Adam.

And treasured Great Grandchildren: Maxwell, Reese, Norah, Cameron.

Each one carries forward her legacy of love, humor and song.

Elaine’s life was graced with deep and lasting friendships. She had a gift of making everyone feel welcomed, and her laughter could light up any room.

She will be remembered as a woman of strength, warmth and music, who blessed all who knew her with music and joy. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and in every note played by the students she so lovingly taught.

 A graveside service will be held on Monday Oct 6, 2025 at 11:30am at Denville Cemetery, 9 Savage Road, Denville. For those desiring, donations to The Dementia and Alzheimer’s Association In her memory would be appreciated.
