Obituary of Phyllis Buyyounouski

Phyllis Barbara Buyyounouski (née Blumetti), age 79, of Mendham, NJ, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Phyllis was the beloved daughter of the late Angela and Michael Blumetti.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Buyyounouski; her sister, Rosemary Blumetti; her son, Mark Buyyounouski and his wife Jodi; her daughter, Lauren Barnicle and her husband Michael; and her adored grandchildren, Kenny, Matthew, Andrew and Christopher.

Phyllis devoted herself to her family and found great joy in preparing meals that nourished the body and soul. Her family will forever cherish the memories of holiday dinners together, endless summers and celebrations at the Jersey Shore, and her thoughtful gifting “just because.”  Most of all, she loved being called Nonni by her grandchildren.  May Phyllis’ caring and nurturing spirit be carried in the hearts of all who knew her.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on September 27, 2025 at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 129 Main Street, Peapack, NJ.  In lieu of flowers and in remembrance of Phyllis, charitable donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
