Obituary of Madeline Sibio

Madeline Sibio passed away peacefully on Sunday August 17, 2025. She was 92.
Born in Newark, to Donato Basso and Rosaria Basile Basso, she lived in Newark many years
before moving to Glen Ridge in 1984.

Madeline worked as a Secretary for the Newark Board of Education for 25 years before retiring
in 2000.

She was the Matriarch of the family.
Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending
time with her family and friends, making Sunday gravy and socializing.
The word "no" was not in her vocabulary. If she received an invitation the response was
a resounding "YES!"

She was the life of the party! She was the first on the dance floor and the last to sit down.
She stayed very active going to her weekly workouts, lunches, coffees, hair appointments and
shopping with friends.

She was a devout Catholic attending Sunday Mass at Immaculate Conception in Montclair.
She loved attending her grandsons' sporting events and spending time with her daughters in
Randolph and Long Branch.

She was predeceased by her siblings Angelina Ferrante and Erasmo Basso.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years Joseph Sibio, two daughters Gerri Ryan (Patrick) of
Randolph and JoAnn Ferrante (Armando) of Long Branch. She is also survived by her cherished
grandsons, Joseph and Patrick Ryan.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday August 22, 2025 at 10am at Immaculate Conception
Church, 30 N. Fullerton Ave., Montclair, NJ. Interment immediately following in Gate of
Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Following, a luncheon will be held at Luigi's Restaurant, 434
Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ. In lieu of flowers for those desiring, donations to St. Jude’s
Children Research Hospital,
in her memory, would be appreciated.

Flowers may be delivered directly to Immaculate Conception Church.
