Obituary of Joseph DiSabato

Joseph A. DiSabato passed away peacefully on the morning of June 26, 2025. He was 84 years old.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Joseph and Elsie (Calvano) DiSabato, Joe lived in Tuscon, Arizona, and Brooklyn, New York, before moving to New Jersey in 1972. He raised his family with his wife Suzanne in Mendham before settling in Basking Ridge in 2008.

Joe attended and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1963 before earning a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1971. He worked as an electrical engineer for Bell Labs in Murray Hill for many years before joining IBM as an IT manager. He retired in 2003. He loved dancing, cooking, working on home renovation projects, and most of all  - spending time with his grandchildren. 

Joe is predeceased by his sister, Lenore, and is survived by Suzanne DiSabato, their sons, David DiSabato (Felicia) of Gladstone, New Jersey, and Joe DiSabato (Nancy) of San Francisco, California, brothers Mark (Margaret)and Ray DiSabato (Vicky), sister Donna Nelson (Tony), and his four grandchildren: Sophia, Cooper, Alexa and Milo.

Private services were held for family and Joe rests peacefully at Hilltop Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
