Obituary of Jennifer Lynne Kervick

Jennifer L. Kervick passed away on April 29, 2025, with her family by her side. She was 55 years old.

Born in Morristown, NJ, to parents Howard and Beverly (Latronica) Polo, Jennifer was a lifelong resident of Mendham. She attended and graduated from Lynchburg College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.

Jennie taught at The Willow School in Peapack Gladstone, working with preschool, kindergarten, first-grade and second-grade students. As a beloved member of the school, she led enrichment activities like the Hygge Club and Turtle Garden Club with creativity and deep care for her students. She especially loved getting the kids outdoors and into the garden, a passion she joyfully shared with them. Her home garden was filled with hydrangeas and peonies, some of her favorites, and she often crafted beautiful floral arrangements, including prom pieces for her children.

As much as Jennie adored her work with The Willow School and teaching, her favorite title was “Mom.” Her children were her entire world. She was a doting, empathetic, and caring parent. Jennie loved spending summers with the kids at the Jersey Shore, especially in Avon-by-the-Sea at the Norwood Inn.

Her home was designed over the course of many years with love put into every antique-filled corner — a special place for everyone to gather. Many pets were welcomed into Jennie’s family, and she enjoyed tending to her garden with her dogs and cats by her side.

Jennie is survived by her beloved children, Ellie Kervick of Washington, D.C., Griffin Kervick of Hoboken, NJ, and Julia and Drew Kervick of Mendham, NJ. She is also survived by her brothers, friends, her two dogs, and her Mendham and Willow communities. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at the Willow School, 1150 Pottersville Road, Gladstone, NJ on Sunday, June 8th from 2-5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennie’s memory may be made to Mary’s Place by the Sea in Ocean Grove, NJ.
