Obituary of Peter E. Perrault
Peter E. Perrault passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 13, 2025. He was 89 years old.
Born in Morristown, NJ, to parents Frank and Mabel (Quinn) Perrault, Peter attended and graduated from Bayley-Ellard High School. He served his country in the Army from 1955 to his honorable discharge in 1957. Peter moved to Brookside after marrying his wife Joanne in 1960 and has been a resident ever since. He was a man of faith and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Mendham.
Peter dedicated his entire career as a carpenter with Maw & McKinnell. He coached youth sports, was one of the founders of the peewee wrestling program and served as a cub scout leader. Peter loved to spend time in his garden, growing vegetables and flowers of all kinds. He enjoyed feeding birds, fishing, canoeing in Cape Cod with his dear friends, and vacationing in Maine and at the Jersey Shore. He had a passion for music, making apple cider with his family, hometown parades, practical jokes and Mischief Night. Peter was the first one on the dance floor and the last one to leave the dance floor. He was an avid reader, and loved his trips to the library and post office where he enjoyed chatting with everyone he encountered.
Peter is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanne Perrault, his children Peter Michael Perrault, Patrick Perrault, Lisa Conover, Kevin (Lori) Perrault, and Matthew (Dawn) Perrault, and Susan (Michael) Thornton, grandchildren Alex Brendan (Rachel), Bryan, and Benjamin Conover, Taylor, Kieran, Eaden, Evan, and Erin Perrault, Abby, Maggie and Connor Thornton, and great grandchildren Quinn, Griffin, and Maeve Conover; as well as many nieces and nephews who
he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his parents, his granddaughter Anne Perrault Conover, and sisters Jean Maw and Joan Brown.
