Margaret F Perkins Obituary

Margaret F Perkins, age 102 of Mendham Township, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Fellowship Village, Basking Ridge.


Margaret was born in 1922 in St. Louis MO, to the late Robert and Elsie Fuller. She lived on her parent’s farm in Mishawaka until the family moved to Lafayette, IN, where she received her degree in Home Economics from Purdue University. Shortly thereafter she began her teaching career in Indiana. Married in 1944 to the late Albert Perkins, they moved to NJ in 1953 to raise their family. She resumed her 30 plus year teaching career and received her Master’s in Education from Columbia University teaching in Westfield, Whippany and Hanover Park, New Jersey.


She had numerous hobbies and interests which included gardening, needle crafts and sewing, genealogy, and rug hooking. She was a member of the Hunterdon Rug Hooking Guild. Through her interest in genealogy she became a member of the DAR in the Morristown Chapter and later the Basking Ridge Chapter. She was a member of the Hill Top church in Mendham.


She is survived by her son Robert, his wife Patrice, daughter-in-law Rebecca and grandchildren Angela and Andrew and a sister Jane Jackson of Florida and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Albert and son Albert, daughter Margaret, her sister Martha and brother-in-law Doug Odell.


Services will be private.
